OPERATIONAL MEMBER

Looking for a way to give back? Operational members are trained volunteers who respond to fires, medical calls, and emergencies, serving on the front lines to protect our community.  We provide training too!

We also offer a live-in program!

SUPPORT MEMBER

Prefer to help behind the scenes? Administrative members support the department through fundraising, event planning, and vital day-to-day operations. No matter your skills or schedule, there’s a position for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need experience to volunteer?

No experience? No problem. We provide all the training and support you need—whether you’re responding to emergencies or helping behind the scenes.

Absolutely! In addition to operational roles, we need volunteers for administration, fundraising, event planning, and other vital support functions.

We understand everyone has different schedules. Whether you can help a few hours a week or more, we’ll work with you to find the right fit.

You must be at least 16 years old to volunteer, but we’re always happy to talk with younger folks interested in future opportunities.

Operational members are eligible to participate in department sponsored training, earning certifications in firefighting and emergency medical services.  Support members will receive a simple orientation to the department based on their role.

Not at all. We appreciate any time you can give. Volunteers respond when they are available—every bit of help makes a difference.

Firefighting has risks, but we emphasize safety and provide thorough training and protective equipment. 

Firefighting can be strenuous, you should be in good health and able to perform physical tasks—if you’re unsure, we recommend consulting with your doctor before applying.

Support roles have no physical requirements and are similar to a typical office job, making them accessible to anyone interested in helping behind the scenes.

Yes, absolutely! The certifications you earn as a volunteer are the same ones required for career positions. Many of our members have gone on to successful careers in fire and EMS.

Volunteering is a great way to gain hands-on experience, build skills, and develop your resume.

Yes, our live-in program allows qualified individuals to reside at the fire station in exchange for volunteering. Live-in members receive free housing, hands-on experience, and professional development in the fire and emergency services field. It’s an excellent opportunity to build skills and serve the community.
