We’re Here for You 24/7—Now We Need Your Support
Dear neighbor,
When you or your family calls 911, you expect help to arrive—and you expect the people who arrive to be trained, prepared, and ready to help.
Day or night, the volunteers of the Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department stand ready to answer that call. Whether it’s a fire at home, a serious crash, or another emergency, our neighbors depend on us to be there when it matters most.
We depend on you to help make that possible.
For the second consecutive year, our department achieved a 100% response rate. Every time we were dispatched, our volunteers answered the call.
Maintaining that level of service takes more than donated time. Our volunteers need dependable equipment, quality training, and facilities that keep them prepared and ready to respond.
When our community calls, we answer.
Today, we’re asking our community to answer our call.

About The fincastle volunteer fire department
The Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department, led by Chief Robert T. Simmons, proudly serves our community with a dedicated team of over 30 operational volunteers and numerous support members who assist with administration and fundraising. Our volunteers are certified to the same standards as their career counterparts, delivering timely, professional emergency services while helping reduce the financial burden on taxpayers.
As the primary fire responder to your home or business, we operate as an independent organization within the Botetourt County Fire & EMS system, forming a countywide fire service that remains predominantly volunteer-based—reflecting the strong spirit of service that defines our community.
